Meatball marinara fries

Ingredients

  1. Step 1 300g frozen French fries
  2. Step 2 ½ tbsp olive oil
  3. Step 3 ½ finely chopped onion
  4. Step 4 1 garlic clove , crushed
  5. Step 5 ½ tsp chilli flakes
  6. Step 6 400g can chopped tomatoes
  7. Step 7 1 tsp dried oregano
  8. Step 8 ½ tbsp sugar
  9. Step 9 150g beef meatballs
  10. Step 10 40g grated mozzarella
  11. Step 11 40g grated cheddar

Directions

  1. Step 1 Cook the French fries following pack instructions. Meanwhile, heat the olive oil in a frying pan and fry the onion for 10 mins. Add the garlic and chilli flakes, and fry for 5 mins more. Tip in the tomatoes, oregano and sugar, then simmer for 10 mins.
  2. Step 2 In another pan, fry the beef meatballs for 5 mins until browned, then add to the sauce and bubble for 5 mins, or until cooked through. Put the fries in a heatproof dish and top with the meatballs and sauce. Scatter over the mozzarella and cheddar. Grill for 2-3 mins until the cheese has melted. Season and serve.
